Unlock Your Potential with Supportive Coaching Services

I view coaching as an extremely collaborative process with the ultimate focus being on the client’s self-development, growth, and achievement of self-determined goals. While we will explore ideas, behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and experiences together, you are ultimately responsible for any actions taken.

My role is to support you, be honest with you, to encourage you to look deeper into areas and challenges you wish to address, to be an objective witness to your experience, and at times, to help you see your situation from another vantage point.

As we explore this co-created process together, I hope to shine a light on areas you may not see (both areas of strength and areas of potential growth) and empower you to move toward the best, most meaningful version of yourself, your life.

Questions & Answers

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching and psychotherapy can both be quite helpful and therapeutic. In some ways they are very similar given the focus on the relationship and the growth that can occur. To me, the main difference is that coaching is not meant to treat mental health diagnoses while therapy, of course, is. Often in therapy, we really delve into the past to find the genesis of certain beliefs and behaviors. While that can happen in coaching, it is typically spontaneous and brief with the primary focus of coaching being the present and future.

Can you be my psychologist and my coach?

While I am both a licensed psychologist and a professional coach, I can’t be both for the same person as that would be a dual relationship. That said, many people see both a coach and a therapist concurrently. If, during the course of coaching, I think therapy may be a better fit for you or even a helpful adjunct, I will discuss it with you, and we can explore appropriate referrals together. Similarly, if I am acting as your psychologist and it seems therapy is no longer beneficial and coaching might be, I will be happy to find you a coaching referral.

What does coaching cost? Is there a cancellation fee?

Coaching sessions typically last 50-55 minutes and cost $200 with payment being due at the end of the session. You can also purchase a 5-session package prepaid for $900. Cash, check, and credit card are all accepted. Sessions must be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, you are responsible for the full fee. Your time is reserved for you and without notice, I can’t make it available to someone else. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact me as soon as possible, so that we can try to find another time that works for both of us. Of course, I also understand that emergencies happen, and the fee can be waived in extreme situations.

Where do coaching sessions occur?

If you are in the Pittsburgh area and would like to have sessions in person, I’d love to work with you in my office. Otherwise, sessions can be conducted online via Zoom or another platform. If you prefer a phone call, we can certainly do that too!
